The matters are further complicated when Carter’s digital assistant Galatea begins to meddle. Interactions between Carter and Ann are thrilling on multiple levels-not only because they are erotically charged. Despite the world of the story being a Dystopia, there is hope. While the tone is often cheerfully cynical, the Author embraces life and reality. Magnusholm’s writing style is immersive to the point where you are there with the character.

Many scenes have an aesthetic literary quality. The characters are fully developed and believable. Galatea 2044 combines many realistic aspects of modern life with technology that isn’t that far away. This is the only SF book I've read that is fully compatible with Singularity. I highly recommend this book to transhumanists and anyone who is interested in Technological Singularity. These days, a technothriller where the AI is neither a monster nor a mindless, subservient automaton is pretty unusual.
