This makes me want to watch the latest Thor movie, and I thoroughly dislike how Hemsworth portrays Thor… so… cheers, Gaiman. I know basically everything in the narrative has been retold, so now I just want more conversations between the gods. This is more… “Loki Is The Pure One, Fight Me Bitch” by Neil Gaiman aka the leader of Loki apologetics. um, usually I discuss books through themes and what they teach us. Loki: wow what happened I did not see this coming The middle: *slight inconvenience or test to the gods and their egos* The beginning of every story: We Are In Peace, How Ni. everything with Freya (she was hilarious and kickass in her feminism!) the mead chapter with the poets (I think) There’s something like 20 tales in this tiny book. The story telling was easily comprehensible, in bite size chunks, with little confusion about foreign concepts. He clearly only cares about Loki and his facetious behaviour. The Narrator: okay I lied- Thor is ranked third, Loki second, and the Narrator is the top character in this book. Yes he’s a little shit, but Gaiman’s partialness to this antihero is glorious and WILL convince you to love Loki. Loki: 👏MY👏QUEEN👏 Loki has sass and flair and amazing delivery to the end of almost every story. I liked how simple it was to root for him as the good guy, and I found him charming when he interacted with children. Odin: wow okay so I know little of Odin, but he reminds me of an infamous womaniser called Zeus. I enjoyed Gaiman’s depiction of such sassy Gods, and it reminded me of Hades from Riordan’s PJO series (which I loooove). This is my first ever exposure to the Nordic culture, aside from watching Thor and the Avengers (which I remember nothing from).
